“Imagine” What’s in Store

Idol should just pack it in after this. They’ll never get another one so perfectly suited to their purposes like David.
I don’t whether he has any songwriting abilities or aspirations, but from a performance and stardom-level standpoint, I think we could be looking at the next Elton John.
Follow up: As of April 16th, at least two other entertainment columnists have mentioned Elton John in relation to David’s talent and potential.

When I heard “imagine” I started to have this compulsion to seek everything David. Never experienced anything like it before. Last night I watched Spielberg’s “Close Encounters” and it suddenly struck me that I had the same type of compulsion as the characters in that story which is actually an invitation to be a part of something quite extraordinarily. My “soul” recognized the invitation but my consciousness fought it for awhile. So yes, I have ODD – “oh, what a feeling!”

He took my breath away
and
left
me
sitting there
with my soul wide open.
This kid resonates on a different vibration than the majority of us do.
Amen for that.

Dear rascal,
I’m late to this particular thread but I’ve just been reading that David is a fan of the late Eva Cassidy and that she has also sung a rendition of “Imagine” which many seems to think that David “copied” when he performed it during AI. I’ve heard Eva’s version and although there seems to be some similarities but I think David definitely put his own imprint on the song and therefore sounds like a David Archuleta version instead of just a cover of another singer. What is your opinion on this?
