A Tribute to End All Tributes
[youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfM_0g4sqRk]
I’m generally reluctant to post fan videos, mainly because there are so many of them that the criteria for selecting them would start to become awfully arbitrary, but this one is in a class by itself. Thanks to Freo for alerting us to it.
One of the things this video made me remember is that although we all care about David as a person and about his happiness and his life and all that, what we share with him is a love for his music. We need to remember that this is what David wants to be there for us for, and what he wants us to be there for him for.
Be sure to click the “more info” link on the original YouTube page if you want to download the original fifteen-minute version of this masterpiece.
Oh, and get a box of Kleenex ready.

rascal, you are so right, of all the fan tribute type videos, this one is pretty wonderful. Whenever it was I saw it, last night, this morning, I’m losing sense of time (being a night owl and getting up early today to back up files so I can take my Macbook to the Apple store, etc.), I saved it immediately. It feels like watching an epic movie and yes, I got all choked up.
Now I gotta go back to the previous thread and catch up!

Hi, rascal. I just viewed the Youtube short version and do agree that it is an outstanding tribute to David as an outstanding AI finalist and musical artist. I still am downloading the Megaupload version and can’t wait to watch it. The powerful background music sent chills thru my spine and was effective in relaying the power of David’s artistry to his viewers as well. I loved it!
Michelinamarie is a gifted film editor, and I congratulate her for a great job. She has a wonderful inspiration in David and will have a promising future in film or multimedia. Bravo!

Such sweet memories! This has been one heck of a ride since it all started. I continue to stay strapped in and ready for David’s music to take us on the next “trip”. I will have to get one of my kids to show me how to save this video to “some gadget thing”. Wish I had their knowledge. Rascal, thanks for the reminder of why we love David. It really is about his music!

The 15 minute version is well worth the download…I watched it several times last night and again just now.
What’s amazing to me is that this just covers a short few months. There are years and years to come of wonderful musical gifts from David to unwrap and enjoy.

Why is it that I get “We are sorry, this video is no longer available?”

I’m so touched that rascal made a thread. I had a good cry after watching the video this morning for the first time. I think I really needed it! All the different emotions of the past eight months, combined the tour ending, and the experience of meeting so many fans online, really came together while watching that video.
I’ve heard that the video’s creator is a 17-year-old young lady from Canada.

It’s a shame that this video came out so soon before “Crush” leaked. I hope more people see this wonderful tribute.

What a lovely tribute to David. Each time I see/hear something like this , it brings tears to my eyes. What potential this magnificent young man has and what a wonderful journey he has embarked upon. I am proud to call myself a fan of his and hope that his magnificence reaches far and wide. He is good now, in fact he is very good. But that excellence is going to be magnified many times before the “compleat David” emerges. And I plan to be right there cheering him on and shouting “David, we love you!”

What a trumphant video. I didn’t watch it when I saw it elsewhere because I customarily hate the fan videos, also I hate watching the night he ‘lost’ and I knew it would be there. Watching it today I realized that I am so over the he lost mentality. Every day that I see him, I realize that was the day he was freed. He has been on such a roll lately. The great concerts, the flirty pictures that hearken back to his Shop Around days. This video was icing on a very edifying cake. Kudos.

I just downloaded the combined videos from the site on youtube and it is fantastic. Took about an hour but I shall treasure it always. Watching this tribute brings me tears everytime. It is such a dream to watch it all coming true for him. I like that most of the music is David but then she uses great instrumental for the end. I read she is a 17 year old girl who made these. I have great hopes for this talented generation.

Michelinamarie is a very talented young lady who lives just outside Toronto. She is in her senior year in high school, and is a huge David Archuleta fan. And now she has found devotees after producing several tribute videos to David. She has a great gift in evoking even more love from us for David through this medium.
I think she would appreciate if you commented on her video, and the others she has posted on YouTube.
