rascal, I know this whole concert idea is a long shot and I’m trying to stay calm, but I’m already thinking this should be an ANNUAL event. The Annual NotingDavid Intimate Concert.

An “Annual NotingDavid Intimate Concert”…what an inspiring concept. If the first one happens there’s no doubt David would love it so much he would keep coming back

When I read Sabrina’s post over at Snarky’s earlier this afternoon, I screamed: New-Rascal-Post-Worthy!!! haha. Thank you Rascal. Poetry indeed.

(In the meantime, I am trying to figure out the logistics of disappearing for two days to attend the private concert without being it noticed by hubby and two teenage kids — my ODD has been a major covert operation and I have been able to stare at the computer for hours without arousing too much suspicion. It may be however hard to disappear for a few days without my family noticing. May have to finally come out of the closet. lol.)

Kait, of course we should move the annual ND intimate concert around. Then we’ll be able to function like a genuine convention!

archiesfan4life – I believe there is a whole chapter on this in the ArchAngels Handbook: “Accepting Those Who Don’t Get It.” Pleas for tolerance and compassion for everyone other than critics, who of course must be held accountable. For them, there is a squadron of designated ArchAngels who are ready for deployment at a moment’s notice to the comments sections of clueless columnists (there is a special ops detachment for EW). We did stop short of approving an idea that had ArchAngels dressing like Mormons and knocking on people’s doors with DA CD’s in hand and greeting people with the phrase, “Have you heard the good news?”

Rascal, you made me laugh and, yes, clueless columnists – definitely!!! I must go back and re-read that section in the handbook:)

Ugh, I can’t bring myself to revisit season 7. There is no way in hell (sorry David, not yet transformed, lol) that I could watch that finale. I mean he was awesome, shoot, for the final three weeks of that season he kicked some serious a$$. Head and shoulders above everyone, imho. I just don’t ever want to think of him coming in second to anyone, even though it was as it should be, I just can’t do it.

I have to ask..cuz I just don’t understand?? How can anyone bare to put themselves through the torture of watching the reruns of AI-7..Seeing David sing his heart out and watch Simon be honest but choking in his praise
of David?? I just can’t.and will never watch AI..well as long as David doesn’t ask us to..but even then..I don’t know if I will. I’m grateful that AI was there to bring David to us..but then again..since I “hate” David..now I’m not sure if I should be grateful or if I should put a curse on the dang show!

I’ve been curled up on the floor in a fetal postion, hugging the defibrillator (paddles now surgically attached to chest) ever since the snarky HRC cell cast and mind numbing videos.

The HRC move busting (”Hard Evidence at the Hard Rock — Archuleta Busted Busting Moves for All the World to See”) gets immediately bronzed and put on the mantle in its rightful place next to guitar hero, epic hunkerdowns and a bedazzling array of archu_jewels (I knew that boy could MOVE the moment I laid eyes on him. Have never ever ever ever EVVVVVERRRR doubted that. jez sayin’)

Every frackin’ scrap of the HRC show hath destroyed me. In a GOOD way.

And I’m here to say: I “WANT LEAN ON ME” acapella or self-accompanied — In the WORST WAY!! (And If fans are ever in a pinch for any other self-accompanied encore request: “CRAZY” puh-LEEZE!)

Oh, and a song I think David could pull off guitar self-accompaniment with relatively little “study” and kill us all off in one swell foop (well, me anyway) is WOTWTC.

Sincerely have enjoyed the whole discussion about the teen idol image thang — and (this happens sometimes) completely see where rascal is coming from but am in an apparently perpetual “Trust The Archulator” mode and am far more optimistic and unbothered in any significant way by it all. (Which is nice.) But, rascal, there is a big part of me that really appreciates your ire on the topic. I UNDERSTAND what you are saying. It can be… maddening doesn’t come close. But it iz wut it iz. On the David’s concert, I’ve had a little fantasy of him performing in Deer Valley, Utah. With David’s voice soaring over the quakies. I believe even the butterflies would cease fluttering to listen.
I loved watching David perform 1,000 miles at Hard Rock. The look of concern that came over his face when he spotted the girl crying is so touching.

The amazing talent of the people attracted to amazing David. Those Snarkies are way cool and have a wicked way with words….

Hi Rascal. This is my 2nd time since May trying to post and it looks like it is working this time. I have been a lurker forever. Way WAY back I posted something on fanblast (this was before FOD) in regards to my bone deep disappointment in our culture for not “getting David” but more to point for not being able to accept something good in a seemingly ugly Pop Culture driven society. Someone suggested that I report to notingdavid.org for group therapy…of course, at that point I was already a frequent visitor. I think I’ve been here since around the Open Letter to David Days. You and all the posters here helped me get through The Finale agony. THANK YOU! The first time I got my courage up to post I think it was the day you closed the blog for a time saying that you’d taken it full circle. Of course, at that point, David was just getting started and you came back! I said from the beginning that AI was a warm up for him. I took the blog going down as a sign that I needed to control my ODD. Of course THAT didn’t happen but I did think that if I started to post, I might never stop!

Like many people here, I have an artistic background. In college I double majored in Vocal Performance and Musical Theatre. I lived the life, gave it my best shot, did pretty well and determined that the life – the gypsy life – was just not for me but the love of music lives on! David sings the way I always wanted to sing. His connection to the material and not to mention what he can vocally do with ONE vocal chord amazes me. The joy in his Hard Rock Cafe performances alone left me smiling all day. Oh…and Rascal, your re-mix of the Ford Day Imagine is like a soothing tonic whenever I need one. Some people think I’m crazy but I gave just about EVERYONE on my Christmas list David’s CD with a note – “It is not everyday you get to watch a legend in the making.” Now I am married, work full time, and and I have a beautiful 6 year old daughter who can sing every David Archuleta song word for word, a 19 year old stepson and an adopted son who is from Murry, Utah. He does not call or write as often as I’d like but that is okay. He’s a very busy young man and I’m very proud of him.

I’m posting tonight because this is the start of the new AI season and for the first time I have decided, I just can’t watch. I almost caved (my DVR was recording. It is still programmed from last season) so I am writing this to stay strong. I figure, any reference to David on the show I’ll get from all the fansites. I have watched every season of AI, some more than others because my daughter was born right before season two. Never, NEVER has a contestant or ANY singer for that matter moved me the way David has and the study of music and singers is what I devoted years of my life to.

Friends today told me that I won’t be able to stay away and eventually I’ll watch the show, but I told them that I just don’t have room in my life for another David. A friend then pointed out that there never WILL be another David and that I was safe to watch. I think it goes deeper than that for me though…after the way it ended and how we suspect they treated him, I don’t think I can ever support the show again. Make sense?

Thanks for this blog. I am a daily lurker who loves every moment. I feel like I KNOW you guys. I thank you and all the regulars for many laughs and a place to ODD. I feel safe here. You have NO idea how happy I was to find you. This group validates my feelings somehow. No…I’m not crazy…I just have ODD!

He is18 not 10–Anyway i could not get involved with all the discussion at that point–My Mom used to say be careful what you put in writing and the post had stirred in me some feelings about David and his image and The Poster Boy thing that seems to be going on.I figured it best I stay out of it all les I get too chatty with my little opinions (they are always subject to change)

about the teasing… to those out there that are really and truly teased by people who it hurts to be teased by… maybe, and I understand it’s a big maybe, if you articulate to them the real elements that drew you to him in the first place and what his music means to you in a sincere and heartfelt manner, maybe they would allow you this pleasure… i saw the eyes begin to turn up for some when I first mentioned the whole David and blogging thing (secret-agent-happy’s-daughter would rat me out if i didn’t confess first) but then I immediately begin an abbreviated version of how the whole thing started for me and its evolution and the response I have always gotten is something along the lines of, “oh,… that’s nice, good for you..” what else can they say?, “oh…. that’s stupid, you crazy fool?”… all in all I have been blessed with people around me that are pleased to see me happy…maybe you could ask them in all seriousness, “aren’t you happy to see me happy?”… just a suggestion to help, not trying to cause trouble…

Oh and SF- good thing you’re going to let the youngin’s like me come to your private shindig… cause I’d have to cause major trouble otherwise

RoseAnn 102, EXCELLENT delurk. Loved every word. I watched about 10 minutes of tonight’s Idol show because my husband was watching, and discovered I just couldn’t stomach it. I have Idol enough in David Archuleta.

Now look..I gotta get to sleep!! But as far as the top ten
performances in the history of AI..I agree with all the performances except that David’s…based on the buzz that his Imagine performance still gets..It should be rated #1..not just cuz he’s MY idol for all time, but cuz it’s true. Fantasia’s was great, Melinda was superb, Lakeisha (?) was terrific, Kelly was fantastic..those are the ones I can remember..But David’s Imagine is seared in my memory..and millions of other people feel the same..That performance alone CHANGED many people’s lives! for gosh sakes! Can we say that about ANY of the other nine? I rest my case!

What happened over Christmas break? In his performances and interviews I’ve noticed this new confidence from David. Especially in these last couple interviews – like the radio interview from today. He’s more at ease, in charge…was it the birthday or something else???

Instead of thousands of fans screaming, lights blazing, hurried backstage change-ups for other performers, he could take his time, connect with the audience, and ENJOY himself. I imagine he got a lot more comfortable after all those Jingle thingy’s. Someone else said he seemed more confident when Lupe was there – I agree.

I really think the time at home was just what David needed. He had a whirlwind schedule in December, and spending time with those you love is always sweet tonic for the soul.

His performances last night were energized, and his vocals were simply stellar! The dance moves were just like yummy warm brownies out of the oven—delicious!

I have a very close group of girl friends who get together every year for lunch or dinner and spending hours laughing and catching up on life. We have been friends since before elementary school, so we go way back! At our last get together one friend got very emotional when making a toast to our group. She said how wonderful and blessed she is to have lifelong friends who love her for her and nothing else. This friend of ours and her husband have become multimillionaires. The rest of us are just happily trekking along in life some just getting by, some middle class, and some upper middle class. We have all taken different paths in our lives and are so diverse from one another, but we adore each other and are unconditionally devoted to each other forever. Our friend said that she is shocked how many people with ulterior motives try to befriend her, her husband, or her children for financial reasons. With a heart full of love and eyes full of tears, she told us how we would never know how wonderful it is to have friends who love you, who would do ANYTHING for you, and who you can count on for anything and everything just from the bond of growing up together and loving each other unconditionally. With us, our friend can relax and just be herself because not one of us is her friend for her money—we already loved her when she was one of us—middle class girls from a small town. She said that since they became wealthy, the trust issue with people is so different and you never know if people like you for you or for your money.

I am sure that David is facing these same type of issues due to his fame. I am sure all kinds of people are coming out of the woodwork wanting to be his friend and hang out with him just because he is famous.

I guess what I am trying to say here is that spending time at home with loved ones, family, and friends seems to have recharged his batteries, energized the body, and fed the soul with unconditional love! We are so lucky to be the recipient of this mini vacation via a wonderful mini concert last night.

Bakyspritz, with all due respect, after watching this show for six seasons straight, I’ve earned my right to be resentful, annoyed, snarky, nitpicky, critical, and – yes, at times – entertained and moved emotionally by a favorite contestant. Besides, I’m a pop culture scholar. As much as I know it’s “just TV,” I also know its cultural impact, which means I’m keeping my critical eyes wide open, thank you very much.

Casey Dog 157…I’m not gonna lie I turned the TV on for two seconds before posting last night. In those two seconds I saw J.B. Saw that he was from Utah (I think?) and thought…God is playing a joke on me. It was then that I thought …carefully step away from the Television and write a post on notingdavid. The singer in me will always want to watch Idol and even my husband last night was like…can’t we watch when the top 12 start? And it’s his fault that I watched last season in the first place. He was watching and I just happened by the TV when David was singing WOTWTC and I was like….”Aw, I love him. He’ll be in there.” Then and I’ll never forget it, I was walking through the family room with a laundry basket in my hand and there was David singing Heaven. I looked at my husband and said. “I’m going to tell you right now, that kid is going to win.” And he was like…how can you say that? Then I told him that I was now committed to the season and it was his fault. Every week that followed was a confirmation. When he sang “Imagine” I said…”You’re watching history in the making right there.” While my husband did not and has not reached the ODD level when David sang “Another Day in Paradise.” He said to me…”It’s not even fair for the other contestants.”

BUT…I have my idol and no room for another. I’ll be honest…I have a massive project going a work right now. I was supposed to log on from home and WORK last night. I spent all my time on David instead. NOT GOOD! But…uh….keep us posted on J.B. Idol sort of became a tradition for the hubby and I. And it looks like he’s going to try to suck me back in. Last night he put it on while I was walking through the room and said…”Here, I’m going to torment you now….RUN!”

RoseAnn #172 — your experience with your husband this season (and last, really) matches mine. We’ve always watched AI together, casually, until David Archuleta came along. I voted before, sometimes. I bought a CD or two, sometimes. Since David, I’ve pretty much changed the way I spend my time and a lot of my money. The hubby is supportive and he likes David and David’s music (to a non-ODD degree) although there have been times I’ve needed to explain and re-explain just what it is about the kid.

With the upheavals and explanations in mind, I’m a bit surprised that the hubby is trying to get me to join him in watching this season — but I take it as a compliment to David that my hubby seems to think David is the phenomenon, and that I won’t be sucked in so completely again.

And I doubt that I would. I’ve liked contestants, but nothing like this. Still, it’s the knowing how hard AI worked to get me to vote another way that deflated my interest. I know it’s just a show — but I naively believed that the show’s producers were slightly more innocent in putting the contestants in front of us and allowing the process to happen.

Add to this the fact that my music collection has grown massively since my introduction to David (because I not only listen to music he suggests, but to music my fellow fans suggest) but I still spend 90% of my listening time to David. In the law of supply and demand, David is supplying plenty.

And gosh, this was supposed to be a stopover and lurk visit. Dang it. Gotta get some work done!

I can see the writing on the wall. It would be wrong not to watch with my husband since we’ve watched it together from the beginning. I liked idol contestants in the past and casually voted…what I did with David…3 phones working at once…yeah, I can’t see that happening again! We’ll have to keep each other posted. Now, I better get back to work! Good thing I’ve got all of David’s performances and the music of all his favorite artists loaded on my iTunes at work to keep me company! I set it to shuffle and when David comes on I get that special glow inside that only he can provide!

Just read that Jennifer Hudson WILL be singing the national anthem at the Superbowl this year. I’m happy for her that she’s trying to get on with her life and hopefully David will get the honor of singing at a Superbowl in the future.

SF #184, I hear ya! I’ve seen posts already today by some who are saying that David must have been “so upset” by the use of Crush on the show. Did it ever cross their minds that he might not have OK’d it, but been aware of it before it aired? David’s not an idiot. Truly, I have no idea how these work, and if the show had to clear it only with his label and not him, but still.

David’s HRC show and Crush was also covered in several UK newspapers/websites to include: entertainment.uk.msn, unrealitytv.co.uk and malefirst.co.uk (I guess related to femalefirst?) to name just a few.

I just love that he’s getting good media buzz prior to the release of Crush. Malefirst also refers to Crush as brilliant.

My sister and my nieces went to London over the weekend and I asked them to check at the HMV store (one of the largest music stores in the world) to see how David’s CD was doing (currently it’s sold in some stores in the UK as an export – usually means you pay a bit of a higher price) and the guy told them that as soon as they get them they sell out. Unfortunately, she forgot to ask them how many they get at a time.

Freofan – HRC was only 2 days ago and already they are writing about it in the UK?! That is great news. He really is a worldwide superstar!
Something happened that night more than any performance yet. Everyone is writing about it. Wow.

I’ve been thinking about this album of David’s. You know, the one he threw together under pressure and time constraints? Well, most albums that take years of work have maybe 4 or 5 good songs on them. And that’s the really good ones imo. So here we have the hastily put together release of David Archuleta. Where are the bad songs? If there are any, no two critics can seem to agree on which they are. In fact, the ones some say are not good are just the ones others are praising as the best cuts on the CD. I don’t believe there are any bad songs on the whole album. In fact, I think besides the Platinum hit Crush, and the probably destined for Platinum ALTNOY, there are a number of other potential songs that could climb high on the charts. It would not surprise me at all to see Your Eyes Don’t LIe, Desperate, Waiting For Yesterday, SOT, and possibly Barriers climb up the charts. The whole album will surely go platinum. What do you think of his chances for a grammy for the album or best new male artist or something? Am I completely in ODD lala land?

I woke up to Z100 this morning and caught the topic the DJs were discussing and thought hmmm. They mentioned that New Kids On the Block were planning a cruise in May for them and their fans. They apparently used to have annual cruises . Initially I thought it was kinda odd then they talked how they would do a couple of performances and the rest of the time just hang out with their fans…off to daydream about cruisin with the archuletas and hanging with people like me

OMHeck…I just thought there could be something “funny” about “Happy” brownies. You guys know what I mean. Ha! Ha!

There are a group of smooth Jazz musicians that do an annual cruise for fans. – Dave Koz, Rick Braun, Richard Elliott, Wayman Tisdale and such.

A cruise..well first of all..David doesn’t even go swimming at the pools in the hotels he’s stayed in..(won’t show that much skin). ***sigh***He has no idea what a GIFT it would be though, for these old tired eyes that can still see & that aren’t dead yet..***sigh***

Welcome to all the new posters – it has taken me a long while to finally get up the courage to post, but a fellow ND friend has encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone and join in and I listen to her!!!!

I am also coming out from lurkdom, I thought I could be contended staying in lurkdom forever. Let me start by saying that it took a lot of courage for me to do this, but hearing all this excitement about a private concert and a DA fanvention finally made me realize that I have to come out and be counted. Also, there have been a lot of lurkers coming out, I didn’t want to be left out. I need to let you know that I although I wasn’t talking, ….I was listening. I am not very good at writing – afraid to embarass myself in the company of such eloquent people in this site.

I too have been a DA admirer since I first saw his audition, ‘Imagine’ is what made me a “forever” fan. I was a mess after the AI finale. I could not get enough of David. That’s when I started to surf the web for him. I did not know about Notingdavid until ronaldsf posted Rascal’s ND blog on utube for the “Think of Me” performance. Since then, I’ve visited ND everyday, many, many times a day (except of course when I am vacationing and internet access is unavailable). My family knows I like David but they don’t know the extent of my ODD. I do all my DA duties (vote in polls – vh1, musiqtone, popstar, etc; do my daily request in my radio stations, buy/gift his cd, songs & videos). I’ve never heard or seen him in person. Can’t wait for his first solo concert. It will be much better if that private concert will become a reality.

About myself – a female golden archie, scorpion, worked in IT but have retired for about a year now, live in New York, have two daughters in their twenties (one is also an archie but not ODD), hubby thinks archie should have won instead of u know who, hubby have already stated that he won’t come with me to DA’s concert but my youngest would, I love all the songs in david’s album and i also lean to the more organic selections like SOT, and yes I love brownies too.

Back to lurkdom now. I promise to come out once in a while if the need arises. I have to figure out how to add my avatar next. Thanks to all the regulars who always make my day and thanks to Rascal for keeping this site open to those of us who share the same sentiments – that is our great love for this “once in a decade”, “the Voice” young man – David James Archuleta.

Kizzi…If anyone ever wonders WHY we love David..show them that answer and other answers like those when he digs deep in his soul to answer, and they will know! He reached US initially with THE VOICE, but it’s his Old Soul wisdom that shines through, that has really captured us, heart & soul. He’s a wonder…an enigma for sure..but little by little we are learning more about..or should I say..FROM him.
And he thinks we love him only for his Voice…I could sit and listen to him talk about anything & everything for hours..I already listen to him sing…

I notice that when an announcement is made of a pending appearance or right after an appearance by David, posters are literally forced to come out of lurkdom..they have this overwhelming desire to communicate how they feel..it’s like a fullness in your heart, like it’s gonna burst if you don’t share the feeling with others who feel the same..So come out, come out wherever you are..we know, we know only too well how you feel! mommuzboys, I know the feeling too. Sometimes I’ve had a particularly stressful day at work and am feeling so down and disheartened by the load and I’ll put in a CD of David. Immediately the load is lifted. His voice reaches inside and hugs my soul and no matter how I felt before, I can’t help smiling.

It is rather startling to me sometimes, the way I “feel” his voice. I hit 50 this year as well and I can make a long list of new things I’ve done because of David… He was just what I needed, when I needed it. I think many here in this efamily share that experience. I think it is special beyond words.

I think I’m doing something wrong here. I’m enjoying this forum so much that I feel compelled to read all comments before posting my own. Obsessed much? It gets me in trouble because in case anyone noticed, I’m usually the last one to comment on each post. I’m gonna do it the right way this time and just jump right in.

An intimate concert for us? Oh please count me in! I live in NY but missed the AI tour so I never had the pleasure of hearing THE VOICE live! At first I was disappointed that he might not have the band with him but have since changed my mind. The fewest distractions to David’s pure voice, the better. Oh I hope and pray that this concert comes to fruition because I’d also love to meet you, my fellow ODDers.

I watched the rerun of AI7, purposely leaving out the finale. So the last show for me was when Simon declared it a ‘knockout’!!! Perfect ending to the season! SF I know you can’t understand how anyone could watch but it was really enjoyable watching with a different perspective. I caught things that I didn’t catch the first time, that I only heard about like David in tears (so touching) when his friend Andrea (sp?) Lushington was voted off; David’s solos in the song and dance numbers with all the other idols and seeing celebrities in the audience.

beebee, thanks for the link to Secondhand Serenade. Uhhhhhhhhhlllllllllll! That song, those words, The Voice…I don’t know if my heart can take David doing his thang the way he wants to do it.

David’s rendition of “When You Believe”…has seen me through rough times…the rough times are not balanced with the best of times though…

We have this month a lawsuit to complete with a mediation called by the three doctors who placed our daughter in a life threatening position and she has been in recovery for ten years and in her twenties her life’s plans have all but vanished…We have to prepare for an important meeting for Saturday that prepares for the mediation just after we have been involved in several days of exhausting discovery…They are flying in the mediator from Toronto…It is a big case and we are talking millions to cover her medical expenses and help her for life…she was studying to be a doctor herself…

At the same time we are helping her re-build a heritage home that has been in the family for 200 years. She has been there near the university for several years and home here luckily when arsonists lit a fire bomb that raged throughout the house sending the upstairs into the basement and so on…I guess they didn’t want to leave fingerprints…She lost everything material…So now we have her health taken from her and her future interrupted as well as any social life and now she lost her beloved home where she was living with her wonderful dogs and finishing her studies…Three days before the fire the same criminals broke into the home and stole belongings then smashed whatever they could…It has been so difficult for everyone but i have enjoyed David’s music so much during the last year….especially at the concert in Toronto…The wonderful highlight of the year…

I remember when he came up throuht the floor with the piano in the fog/smoke…it gave you all the spirituality that one needed…My husband was there to witness it and it was amazing as we know…So he understands the magic of David…

Just wanted to let you guys know – I just called Z100 to request David’s new single and I asked very politely. The guy who answered said “Ummm, we’ll see what we can do”. He had an attitude and sounded angry and caught off guard that I asked for David’s song. What’s going on with that??? Why does Z100 sound angry about David’s music. They’re the ones who premiered “CRUSH” – I don’t understand that. Even, David thanked them on stage at Jingle Ball and Garrett from Z100 interviewed him and said would he like to come back to Z100 to promote his next single and David said sure! We should all email Z100 to find out what’s going on??

Mommuzboys #239 First of all congratulations for becoming a nurse and realizing or wishing you had done it sooner – cause that was your true desire all along.

I followed that route, too, after raising a family and although I got into nursing late, I just retired from a wonderful and very rewarding 30+ year career. I was still working when AI Season 7 started…but David had pretty much the opposite affect on me. After giving my heart and sometimes my soul to my patients and my work, I decided it was time to find what I wanted to do for myself and to use my energy for volunteer work. Since then I have traveled to Europe for the first time…and, at home, have joined several organizations dedicated to helping others. I love helping people, but now do it on my own time and not by the timeclock.
David has been an inspiration to me, to never give up on anything, to stay active, and to discover other skills I never thought I had. I, too, wish I could live to 100.

In staying with the topic of this thread… I really admire so many creative, young people today who think for themselves, get an idea and run with it. The Snarky girls met because of David, and David tells us we “can dream sky high.” And, the amazing thing is, he knew this at what? 12 years old. You and I found our true calling in what? our mid-years.
David truly brings out some of the strongest feelings in all of us, and it is really a joy to be among so many new friends here at Noting David and to share our emotions.

But, once this wonderful trip with David has started no matter where it began – with Star Search, with American Idol, with the summer Tours, or even just a couple months ago or perhaps only two days ago with the Hard Rock Cafe show… I don’t think there is anyone here; I take that back… there is no one here who wants to reverse time and go back to living without David. This young man shares a part of his life with us, and we want to share in it. Despite past and probably future obstacles, David stays positive, gives more of himself than we could ever return, and the best part is, he is totally grateful, strives to be better and continues to delight and inspire. What a joy to be a fan!

Just watched Idol…eeek. Some of the contestants were good (Anoop!) but all the Cook promo … I guess I shouldn’t be, but I’m very surprised at the number of times they mention him throughout the show. They aired a 2 minute commercial for Idol that was basically a Cook commercial, showed again the finale moment (yet cut out the 12 million votes line – think they realized how tacky it sounded?), and even had an interview with his mom and stepdad. I don’t recall Jordin getting anywhere near this type of promo last year during first auditions. Seems to me they will do anything to ensure his album goes platinum by the time he appears on the show. Of course it will with this kind of promo! whatev….

Ratings are down 10% already for last nights episode…wonder how much of that is due to disgruntled Archies?

Salt Lake City auditions air next week, but only half an episode I think. You think maybe David is in L.A. filming a little segment for the show?

Last night I read on Snarky’s that the current concert tour rumor is that David will be performing in small venues similar to Hard Rock Cafe. As I was listening to his CD on the way to work today, I thought of what it might be like so see him in such a venue and I just started to cry, great heaving sobs of joy. I was a mess and gosh…it felt SO GOOD. The LOVE and JOY that he projected through the you tube videos from the HRC performance filled me with such joy and a million other emotions that I still don’t understand. I can only IMAGINE what it was like for those of you who were there. How does he do it? And he’ll never really know, just like SF reminded us last night. I’ve only ever seen him live during the AI tour in Atlantic City. I was in danger of needing oxygen then but in a small venue? I’ll be a mess. Fortunately I have a friend who promises to help me stay upright and coherent. I feel so selfishly blessed that David is in this world.

I had a dream about David last night, as well. It was very short or else I don’t remember it too well.
I was alone with David after a concert and was talking to him. I pulled out a poster I had made for him and showed it to him. He then gave me a poster he had made for me. That is all I remember. I guess he really loves his fans as much as we love him. Oh, and he was singing “I’ll be” the whole time. (I listened to that alot yesterday)

OMG. What just happened? Sorry to burst in here without reading ANY comments, but I have the TV Guide thing playing, and I’m only paying attention with about 15% of my brain cells—it’s an Idol wrapup show of some sort, covering the first couple of AI8 shows last week, blah, blah, blah. There’s a former contestant on (girl), who—I barely caught enough of this—says there’s a reality show in development featuring (this girl from Idol who’s talking) and “another former finalist” whose initials she could not give because they would “totally give it away” if she said them. Gah! Could the initials be “DJA”??? Could David be in L.A. doing a pilot for this thing? OMG, that would be so over-the-top awesome. Sorry to have so little info—does anyone know more about this????? My heart just LEAPT out of my body (is that a word, I can’t spell)????
